Instructions on how to prepare the work

Programmes:

The work should be prepared in one of the programmes:

  • Adobe Illustrator up to and including version CC – PC/MAC platform
  • Adobe Photoshop up to and including version CC – PC/MAC platform
  • Open files in the following formats: .pdf (version 1.6), .ai, .eps, .psd
  • Artwork should be saved with texts converted to italics!
Colour presentation:

It is important to be aware of the differences in the presentation of colours by different types of monitors and print. Therefore, in order to achieve colour consistency, the monitor should be calibrated with a suitable device.

Images and bitmaps:

If bitmaps (e.g.: photos or other raster objects) are not permanently embedded in the work, they should be attached separately, avoiding the necessity of exporting them from the vector programme for further processing. The resolution of the bitmap should be min. 300 dpi at a scale of 1:1 for a ruling of 150 lpi or 350 dpi at a scale of 1:1 for a ruling of 175 lpi.

We kindly ask:
  • not to submit works in the RGB color format,
  • not to submit works in PDF format with low-resolution bitmaps (below 300 dpi),
  • not to submit texts in Photoshop or any other bitmap programme,
  • to convert texts to italics,
  • if there are objects on the page which come into direct contact with the edge, 3 mm should also be added to the „bleed”,
  • to place important text or graphic elements at least 1.5 mm from the cutting line,
  • to mark the contour of the die-cut, preferably in a separate spot colour,
  • to include a preview in the form of a good quality JPG or PDF of the version accepted by the customer, including all elements of the design.
Line and transitions:

In patterns prepared for flexo printing, a line (object) with a minimum thickness of 0.12 mm should be used, and 0.25 mm in the contrast of a single colour. In the case of a contrast in compound colours, the line thickness should be even greater. The minimum font size depends on the type of font, i.e., texts from one- and two-element fonts.

Barcodes:

The barcode should:

  • have a minimum size of SC0,
  • consist of one 100% colour,
  • be a minimum of 2.31mm (2.54mm recommended) away from any other graphic (printing) element,

Preferably, the code should be in black, blue, green or dark brown on a white background (according to current standards).
